A Fine Day Out

After weeks of frigid temperatures the promise of a 40 degree Saturday with no forecasted precipitation called for getting out of doors.  And whilst I have been completely enthralled with the Winter Olympics that fascination was not going to propel me to an actual outdoor activity.

Instead I turned to my go to expedition planner AntiqueTrail.com where I found The Unknown Marketplace which is just one of a collection of lovely shops in the Winsmith Mill.

Slipping behind the wheel of the Jeep for a day with no responsibility brought a frisson of excitement and a smile to my face that was not diminished despite the 2 hour drive being almost all highway miles.

Though the majority of my travels are solo there are often things that make me think of the people in my life; today was no different.

There were décor items that were not for me but as soon as I saw them I thought “that is so…..”

The Wee Beasties of friends and neighbors kept popping up as I strolled through the shops.

The chuckle of the day came in a shop where the placard that read “Be you.  The world will adjust.” caught my eye,  looking a few inches to the right brought this portrait print into review and with a chuckle I thought the placard was just the right title for the print.

Temptation was almost everywhere but I can proudly say I stayed within budget while still being able to obtain 3 more books for my library, a piece of art for my wall, and a couple of baubles.
